Sasicha May Thongkhaoaon

Product Design, UX Research, Architecture

I’m so glad you’re here and want to know me better. Let’s start with my name! My Thai friends call me May (here’s why Thai people have nicknames). But, honestly, I’m happy with whatever you prefer: May, Sasicha, or even Sascha!

What I Do

Today, I’m a designer working across diverse domains: Financial Technology, Education, Environment, and Cultural Preservation. My current focus is on FinTech, where I work as a Digital Product Designer and UX Researcher.

I’m fascinated by how technology can scale its impact on human lives and how people interact with it in meaningful ways. This curiosity drives me to craft intuitive digital experiences and design solutions that connect technology with human needs. I’m also a co-founder of an education start-up dedicated to promoting inclusivity in Thailand. I believe inclusivity is the foundation for improving lives. Through my work, I strive to connect people, technology, and creativity to create a lasting impact.

Feel free to reach me out if you want a password to some protected pages on my website.

Where I Started

My journey began in architectural design, where I developed a foundation in human-centered design, balancing functionality and aesthetics, and prototyping. I gained hands-on skills, which allowed me to turn creative ideas into tangible results.

This experience sparked my passion for exploring design beyond buildings, leading me to focus on crafting solutions that serve people directly, regardless of the medium.

Hey… welcome to my relaxing session!

Cooking, to me, is just another form of art (combined with science). It’s where I experiment with flavors, textures, and techniques—just like I do in design. In 2020, I took my creative flair into the kitchen while spending three months in the San Francisco Bay Area during the pandemic. To combat homesickness, I recreated Thai dishes using ingredients from Trader Joe’s and local Asian grocery stores, adapting them to bring out authentic Thai flavors.

Trader Joe’s, Palo Alto | for those dishes creatively adapted from more accessible ingredients

The following images showcase the delicious results of my Far-From-Home Cooking experiment in the US. Each dish became a creative canvas, blending flavors with inspiration from diverse cultures. (Most of the main ingredients were sourced from Trader Joe’s.)

Nowadays, cooking remains my go-to way to relax and de-stress. It’s my daily “small win”—a tangible, flavorful creation that reminds me to enjoy life’s simple joys :)
